If they won't, then I think that there should be a "we get to ask, and you have to tell" law for ALL elected officials. I mean do they really think that the gay men and women in the military will be off having "unconventional relations" instead of taking care the business if defending their country!!! Wake up America!!there have always been gays in the military, and allowing them to say so will only give them a voice in a country for which they are clearly willing to die.
